Scaling for Global Markets!

The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) Silicon Valley/ San Francisco Roundtable (RT) hosted an exciting program season finale, ‘Scaling for Global Markets!’ at Golden Gate University (GGU) last week. GGU’s Law Auditorium was filled to capacity with supply chain professionals from Silicon Valley’s biggest brands from technology and manufacturing to venture capital, media, service providers, retail and consumer goods industry experts as well as government and academic leaders and students – gathered to engage, network and stay abreast of the latest insights of industry’s thought leaders.

“Blitzscaling: The Lightening Fast Path to Building Massively Valuable Companies” co-author Chris Yeh delivered an entertaining and thought provoking keynote address, highlighting his recently published, best-selling book (co-authorized with Reid Hoffman).

Event Chair and RT president Michele Carroll, president of Carrollco Marketing Services, was the evening’s emcee and moderated two panels, the first featuring Craig Cuffie, Chief Procurement Officer for Salesforce, world renowned as the leading Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution, Bindiya Vakil, CEO of Resilinc, the fast growing risk mitigation software partner and Simone Ross, COO of Setlog Corporation – both boasting tens of thousands of users for hundreds of top brands and companies.

The second panel featured perspectives of three very different companies, through the lens of different points on the career path.

Panelists (left to right): Claudia Knowlton-Chike, Dir Facebook Infrastructure Business Operations Support; Anne-Marie Parkkinen, Sonic Manufacturing; Renee Yao, Product Marketing NVIDIA discussed their journey to these roles and the realities of global supply chain (and supply chain adjacent!) career development, efforts to improve diversity in our field and learnings along the way.
