The Future of Freight

We heard you! You asked for a freight transportation themed program and we have delivered in a big way! Join us at Uber Headquarters in San Francisco for an evening program focused on the Future of Freight. The program will include a presentation by Uber Freight followed by a panel discussion moderated by the San Francisco regional chairman for the CA Trucking Association and panelists comprised of executives from Uber Freight, IHS Markit, and Conagra. Themes will include The effect of ELDs, Last Mile Delivery, Autonomous Vehicles, Pricing, Driver Shortage and more. Of course, there will also be plenty of time for networking. Event attendance is capped at 80 attendees, register early!

Owen Oakley is a senior vice president based out of the Marsh San Francisco office. He is responsible for the management and delivery of services to the transportation industry, with main focus on Trucking, Last Mile Delivery, Mass Transit, Rail and Autonomous Vehicles. He has developed a strong technical background and concentration on regulatory protection in manufacturing automation and autonomous transportation.
Owen joins Marsh after 11 years at Heffernan Insurance Brokers, where he worked as the Transportation Practice leader and managed his own book of business.
Owen is the chairman of the California Trucking Association (Bay Area Chapter) and hosts quarterly risk management seminars for his members. Owen holds a BA in economics and business management with a minor in Japanese studies from Occidental College, Los Angeles, CA.

Bill Driegert is the Director of Uber Freight, an app that seamlessly connects trucking companies with loads to haul. Prior to joining Uber, he served as Chief Operations Officer at Pillow Homes. He also spent time at Amazon as Director of Planning and Innovation with oversight over new initiatives in final mile delivery and truckload. Bill was a founding team member of Coyote Logistics (acquired by UPS) and the company’s Chief Innovation Officer. He started his career building race-cars in Vermont before joining PepsiCo to start a more glamorous career in logistics. Bill lives in Tiburon, CA with his wife and 2 children and in his limited free-time still enjoys mountain biking and tinkering on old cars and motorcycles.

Peter Tirschwell is senior director of content in the Maritime & Trade division of IHS Markit, publisher of The Journal of Commerce, JOC.com, IHS Fairplay, Dredging & Port Construction, Safety at Sea, PIERS maritime trade data, and seven annual JOC events, including the flagship TPM Conference in Long Beach, California. A career transportation journalist, Peter was a reporter, West Coast bureau chief, editor-in-chief, and publisher of The Journal of Commerce in his 25-year career with the company. He is founder and chairman of the TPM Conference. He writes a regular column in The Journal of Commerce, and is a frequent speaker at global trade, transportation, and logistics events.
Brian Stoufer

Brian Stoufer has 20+ years in the transportation and warehousing industry. He has been with Conagra Brands for 14 years. His team procures, plans and manages a network of approximately 300,000 loads annually across multiple modes and over 200 origins. Brian has held positions in Warehousing and the Project Management Office. Prior to Conagra Brands, Brian held several positions within the Sprint’s supply chain organization (Sprint North Supply) primarily focused on network optimization and process improvement. Brian holds a degree in Transportation Logistics from Iowa State University. In his free time Brian is a drone enthusiast and does metal & wood working.
